Chiquimula Children's Library

READING FOR EVERY CHILD IN CHIQUIMULA

In 2015, L5 Empowerment partnered with CUNORI, a local branch of Guatemala's public university system, in the Eastern Highland town of Chiquimula, to establish a children's library. Thanks to the work of dedicated librarians and local leaders, the library has grown to regularly host public school field trips, promote children's theater, and more.

We're currently raising funds to fuel further innovation and activity at the CUNORI Children's Library. With the very modest amount of $500, local librarians and workers will be able to:

Grow the library's collection of age-appropriate books
Create a small platform stage for the children's theater productions
Purchase new sitting rugs for children to use during group story time
Purchase additional book storage to house the growing collection
